Pete,
  I certainly don't wish to scare youm but I happen to believe in giving 
people an informed choice.  Remember, only 10% of the birds are kept by their 
owners....so out of love for birds, I am telling you all the terrible things 
...I think you are proceeding with caution and great sensibility.
