Hi, Pardon me for cutting in, but if you're looking for a reasonable compiler, check out EMX/GCC. It's capable of compiling DOS, and OS/2 (PM and Windowed) programs. For more info., download the file README.DOC (which should be available on some bbses (I think)). This file will give you info. on which files should be downloaded in order to compile programs. The basic files you'll probablly need are EMXRT.ZIP (I have EMX 0.9b fix #2 - latest fix is 3 I think), EMXDEV.ZIP, GNUDEV.ZIP,GOBJCDEV.ZIP,and GPPDEV.ZIP. If you want a dialog editor (which lets you make windows, buttons, dialogs, etc. visually), try Guidelines (FREEWARE), or Prominare (approx. $800 U.S.). Also get Project Manager, GNUMAKE.ZIP, and additional information files like GNUINFO.ZIP, and examples like EMXAMPLE.ZIP. One last source for PM programming (or any other type like windowed), try to get all the EDMI magazines. They will REALLY help you. I'm limited to OS/2 Programming (H. Schildt & R. Goosey), which doesn't really help in what I want to do, so I'm relying on EDMI and others around different bbses.
