EC>> Back when Bob Klahn and Lee Lofaso were doing their performance
of "the
EC>> nasties are coming and we need a new moderator" in your
echo, someone (I
EC>> think it was Cindy) offered several opinions of her own:
RN> That is right.
EC>> (1) the action was unnecessary,
RN> Also right.
If it was right, why did you become moderator and Cindy Co-mod?
And why didn't you just let Lee have the moderator position?
EC>> (2) Klahn was at fault for starting his paranoid rant and creating
EC>> controversy where there was none, and
RN> It was at this point that Cindy suggested I claim the
RN> echotag and announce myself as moderator, which I did.
Which contradicts what Earl said on the subject. And supports my
statement that you listed it after I opened the subject.
EC>> (3) IF there was to be such a problem and IF it required a new moderator,
EC>> then perhaps someone like Klahn who has already had experience as a
EC>> moderator would be an okay pick.
RN> Or so some thought. My moderating style is as different
RN> from Bob's as night is from day. I've been a moderator for
RN> a long time now.
So have I. And the only real difference is from the nature of
the echos. Yours is a general chat, pleasant chat, mine is a
debate echo.
EC>> Bob likes to talk about #3, but never likes the mention of #1 and #2.
EC>> And he considered #3 a nomination and even an offer of the
EC>> moderatorship, even though there was no offer and the comment didn't
EC>> come from a person who COULD offer it.
RN> It was he who began the talk about the echo needing a
RN> moderator. I was really surprised the echo was still on
RN> the backbone without a moderator for so long a time. We
Which also surprised me, and contradicts Early again.
RN> (the posters) were perfectly happy to let things go on as
RN> they were before the flap about a moderator started. Once
RN> that situation stabilized, we began a search for Bobby
RN> Queen. Several things came to light about him and I don't
RN> know if any of them are correct.
I don't even know what they are. I do know the nasties did show
up, and left when they realized you were running a strictly
friendly chat echo. The few who flamed elsewhere that stayed
conducted themselves within the rules.
