| subject: | Nit Picking |
Why all the nit-picking of the details? There is a proposal on the table, a number of sysops in this network have put a considerable amount of their time and effort into drafting it. In return, the RC's of this network ought to at least do them the courtesy of voting on whether they want a policy referendum on the proposal or not. Does it really matter a hill of beans whether the IC asks the RC's for a vote, or the RC's themselves get together and then inform the IC? The arguments sounds an awful lot to me like a bunch of old ladies, bickering over the latest neighborhood gossip. Can we not just tolerate each other's presence and POV's for this one short period of time, and actually try to do /something/ together as a group for once? If the RC's of this network truly care about the network, then I feel they should take any proposal that has seen as much effort put into it as this one has very seriously, and should take it upon themselves as their duty to vote on the question of whether to have a policy referendum or not. That being said, why don't we just drop the petty arguments over insignificant details, try to get as many RC's in this network linked into one common place (this echo), and just hold the damn vote. If it passes, then we have a policy referendum; if it doesn't, then you can all go back to whatever place makes you comfortable enough so that you aren't complaining so much. --- GoldED/W32 3.0.1* Origin: MikE'S MaDHousE: WelComE To ThE AsYluM!
