DD> If you want your port & modem to lock at 38,400 you must send an

DD> at 38,400 followed by an &W to write that speed to NVRAM.
BG> I've already told Paul that numerous times, but he doesn't want to know.
PE> You see how silly these sort of remarks make you look after
PE> the event? Calling me closed-minded etc? I have no problem
PE> with you being WRONG, most people who argue with me generally are.
BG> That's what the manual says, Paul. And quite specifically.
No, it does not. And if it did, it would be a documentation error
AS WELL, seeing as it does NOT do that. Try it for yourself, make
your last NVRAM save at 57600, change to 38400, and go "ATDTxxxx"
and watch it come back with "RINGING", "CONNECT" etc, *ALL* at
38400! Like wow, man!
PE> What I do have a problem with is all the snide remarks
PE> you make as a substitute for arguing the issue itself. You
PE> really should take some of your own advice, it was written for
PE> people like you, not me.
BG> Nope, the manuals were written for people like you (presumably to ignore).
They were written so that people with brains could interpret
them correctly, and dorks would start quoting AT&B2 in response
to a question about AT&B1.
PE> BTW, where's my apology? BFN. Paul.
BG> Shove it up your arse.
But hang on Bill, I thought you had asked me for an apology and
you were going to shove my apology up my arse. But it's the
other way around now, so don't I get to do the shoving? It's
only fair after all, no? BFN. Paul.
