Sure, and the inability to pay for caviar rations caviar.
I think that existing health insurance and government programs have gone a
long way toward elevating prices payed by the uninsured who don't qualify
for government programs.
Having said that, I will admit to being royally pissed that my copay (I'm
treated under NY rules because I work in NY, even though I live, and am
treated, in VT) for visiting my Primary Physician or specialists like
cardiologists is $15, but my copay for psychiatric treatment is $45 -- with
severe limits on the number of sessions which have to then be appealed on a
case-by-case basis. Major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia,
etc., are CHEMICAL imbalances with known chemical treatments. Gee, isn't
diabetes a "chemical" problem?
Hell, the REALLY perverse thing is that it would be cheaper (for me) to let
them lock me up for a month that to treat me as an out-patient.
