Personally, if the reason for the excessive comments is to enable scripting
(which appears to be the W3C's original plan), then zapping HTML e-mails
with them makes perfect sense to me.

E-mail shouldn't have scripting language stuff in it. The risk isn't worth
any perceived benefit to anyone.
