I still claim that learning about and adding echoes needs a common list
*somewhere* for people things to flourish. I think the moderator/feed
cut/managed echolist model might have made sense when backbones moved the mail
*at cost* but with polling via IP it doesn't make much sense.

I'd like to see a non-managed means of tracking unmoderated
echoes. Unfortunately, I don't know of a good way without putting one system in
charge, so to speak - and that's the slippery slope that got us where we are
now.
