Hello Jim!

C++ How To Program
H.M Deitel, P.J. Deitel
ISBN 0-13-117334-0

A very good Beginner's C++ book. Objects and Classes are not mentioned
until the sixth chapter. 950 pages of well-spent money on this book.
I really liked this book, I bought many C++ books, and they did not come
accross as this book.

Chapter 1 Intro. to Computers and C++ Programming
Chapter 2 Control Structures
Chapter 3 Functions
Chapter 4 Arrays
Chapter 5 Pointers and Strings
Chapter 6 Classes and Data Abstraction
Chapter 7 Classes: Part II
Chapter 8 Operator Overloading
Chapter 9 Inheritance
Chapter 10 Virtual Functions and Polymorphism
Chapter 11 Stream Input/Output
Chapter 12 Templates
Chapter 13 Exception Handling
Chapter 14 File Processing and String Stream I/O
Chapter 15 Data Structures
Chapter 16 Bits, Characters, Strings, and Structures
Chapter 17 The Preprocessor
Chapter 18 Other Topics

However, the authoritative book on C++ is by the inventor of C++ Bjarne
Stroustrup and The C++ Programming Language SECOND EDITION.
ISBN 0-201-53992-6 This book is used by many utilizing C++ including
computer electronic engineers.
