Most cars' regulators are set to a maximum of 14.4-14.5VDC. In practice,
this is available only with the engine *and nothing else* running. Start
turning on lights, the fan, the stereo... and it starts to drop. Typically
you'll run closer to 13-13.5V when underway. If your amps are located at the
back of the car, you'll also lose about .5-1V to line resistance by the time
you get back there.
