Hello, Jean. I got msg marked 'PVT' but I think that doesn't work
anymore, since others have replied - - and that is fine with me.

Sorry I haven't had time (or need) to work with Canon Printer here, but
here's a refresh of what I wrote awhile back via email (back in May) -

BIR, at OfficeMax on that day, cartridges for HP and Lexmark didn't list
component solvents on outside of the boxes.

Some of the Canons have printhead with built-in ink tank (Like HP). Some
have separate printhead, with ink tanks which snap in. I'm talking here
about trying to clean out the "printhead" part, whether it be separate,
or combined with built-in ink reservoir.

When I do get around to working on the supply of dried-out Canon
printheads here, I think I'll start with Isopropyl, maybe mixed with
some distilled water. Overnight soak minimum, then with a folded up
kitchen paper towel - the very absorbent ones, press the printhead
part down onto folded multi-layers of those, slightly wet with distilled
water - - suck out any now-dissolved ink by capillary action, if
possible. I'll do that as long as lots of ink seems to be coming out,
occasionally dipping the printhead back into the isopropyl solution.

I think I wrote you that I used to have an "ultrasonic jewelry cleaner"
thingie - - and I want to hang around at Ebay some and find a cheap one
of those. Back in the days when we used "Rapidograph" type capillary
technical pens for drafting, they used to sell that type of machine
for breaking loose the dried up India Ink when those would dry out.
I'm thinking that sort of thing would help a lot with breaking up
that dried out inkjet ink also.

 JP> Lawn mowed gain ? ;-)

Mowed it last SAT. Made bad mistake, leaning way to side and back
on the riding mower while ducking an obstacle. Gave myself a severe
backsprain - wasn't too bad until TUE, when I couldn't stand up without
using arms and/or an umbrella as a makeshift cane. Couldn't stand
to bend over while standing - that would cause a spasm with sharp
pain - so bad it made my knees involuntarily buckle, and I almost
fell down a couple of times. Went to the doc - - who gave me 4
different kinds of medicine. Relief was quick, and I'm much better
now. Grass needs mowing again - been 8 days now, and I'll bet
I don't do that bending and leaning thing again while mowing. [:-(.
