1237ca298b58 tech Hello Wayne - TW>> I don't know about that. Did you know that there are TW>> Computer Mothewr Boards out there with Vacuum Tubes on TW>> them. WC> I had not a clue. Some claim a softer sound due to the WC> nature of the distortion produced on clipping by bi-polar WC> transistor versus tube _sound_ and I agree with them to a WC> point. However I see no reason a well designed FET WC> transistor amplifier should perform any less well. I have no opinion as to whether tubes are better for sound reproduction or not. I do think people with low powered digital equipment are comparing that to higher powered tube type amplifiers and assuming that the tube somehow makes the difference. Very few people I know turn up the volume high enough to even drive their speaker systems and most speaker systems are the 'weak link' and cannot reproduce the sound(s) that exist in a full range orchestral arrangement. I know because I program them and know every sound of every instrument playing and cannot hear them on other people's equipment even when I can persuade them to turn up the volume loud enough to drive the speakers. > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ ___ * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
