Hello Wayne -

I have no opinion as to whether tubes are better for sound
reproduction or not. I do think people with low powered digital
equipment are comparing that to higher powered tube type
amplifiers and assuming that the tube somehow makes the
difference.

Very few people I know turn up the volume high enough to even
drive their speaker systems and most speaker systems are the
'weak link' and cannot reproduce the sound(s) that exist in a
full range orchestral arrangement.

I know because I program them and know every sound of every
instrument playing and cannot hear them on other people's
equipment even when I can persuade them to turn up the volume
loud enough to drive the speakers.
