NASA SHARES VISION OF THE FUTURE WITH LOCAL STUDENTS
NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe, Congressman Sherwood
Boehlert (R-NY) and other NASA officials are participating
in events this weekend, to mark the conclusion of a
statewide tour of NASA's Starship 2040 exhibit, a mock-up of
a futuristic space liner.
The traveling exhibit, designed to share NASA's vision of
commercial space flight, as it might exist in 40 years, will
be at the Children's Museum of History, Natural History,
Science & Technology March 28-30, 2003. The museum is at 311
Main Street in Utica, N.Y.
Administrator O'Keefe and Boehlert will attend events on
Saturday, March 29, including a science fair, awards banquet
for area junior and senior high school students at Utica
College, and ceremonies at the Children's Museum.
Administrator O'Keefe will accept a book, signed by museum
visitors, in remembrance of the Shuttle Columbia astronauts.
Astronaut Leland Melvin will discuss NASA's Educator
Astronaut Program (EAP) Friday at Rome Free Academy at 10:00
a.m. EST, and at Proctor High School at 1:25 p.m. EST.
The Utica visit concludes Starship 2040's New York tour,
which included stops in Syracuse, White Plains, Hempstead,
Bushwick, the Bronx and Bayshore.
