No, actually my (non-simple) solution is to restrict gun ownership by need
(real or percieved). You live in a flat at South Brisbane, you need a
permit and proper lockbox for an airrifle or anything heavier. You live on
a farm you are allowed a Rifle (say 5 shot bolt action) and/or a shotgun.
You live in the Channel Country you need a permit for anti-tank weapons
(everything lighter is permit free)...
