MS> whats about MEMMAN=COMMIT? will the memory be back- MS> up'ed by swap-space? i think so. No. Don't confuse address space with RAM. With the 386 hardware, you can designate an address space of any size; then back it with no or little physical ram. The only problem the 64k issue you have found is the erosion of your processes 512MB address space. No memory is wasted (outside of the 4k page physical size slack). MS> (i assume that WARP connect means also WARP with a MS> fixpack >= 5. I run WARP FP5 and it still allocates MS> 64K). Don't use the word "allocate" when referring to this problem -- I think "reserves address space" is better. --- Maximus/2 3.00* Origin: Sol 3 * Toronto * V.32 * (905)858-8488 (1:259/414) SEEN-BY: 50/99 270/101 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 955 SEEN-BY: 712/407 515 517 628 713/888 800/1 @PATH: 259/414 400 99 250/99 3615/50 396/1 270/101 712/515 711/808 934 |
