I also know how to program in DOS and Win16. I have recently re-installed EMX c/c++ compiler for OS/2. I intend on learning PM programming. I hear you can transfer the knowledge from Windows to OS/2 PM since they both have a similar architecture. In my case, would it be much better to still learn the CP API first? PM? and then WPS? The only problem I have with EMX is no resource editor. I heard of r.e. for OS/2 named Guidelines. Then I read the docs on the price of around $90. For around that price, I can get a academic version of Visual Age C++ for $130 from IB or Watcom for $99, or Borland/2 for around $130. Then again, I am starting to see many companies starting to use Guidelines and JOT for developing software. - Daniel Morgan --- timEd/2 1.10* Origin: Silver Sun BBS (1:376/194) SEEN-BY: 50/99 270/101 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 955 SEEN-BY: 712/407 515 517 628 713/888 800/1 @PATH: 376/194 178 3615/50 396/1 270/101 712/515 711/808 934 |
