That's perfectly all right Mr. Tarana!!!
CT>do believe AF1 is the code name for the particular Boeing VC-135 that
CT>the president uses for everything besides his dates. AF1 is laid out
CT>quite differently from a MMEL point than a standard B-707 or VC-135.
CT>Whether or not they've upgraded to a B747, I'm not sure.
Several years ago the 89th MAW and USAF purchased two B-747-200's for
use by the presidents!! *:-<)
The only
CT>modified B-747 in my copy of Jane's are the four E-4B Kneecap
CT>National Emergency Command Post Aircraft. (94 crew on 3 decks, 5
CT>mile trailing wire antenna (VLF) in dorsal pod.)
There are E-4B also!!!!!
CT> If the president needs to transfer to another aircraft, it's

CT>not AF1. I'm going to look that one up next time I "paddle the Net"
CT>and see what barks.
Good luck on your hunt and I too will take a look and see if I can find
some reference material that speaks to the assignment of the Air Force
One call sign. I think it may be covered in the AIM (Airman Information
Manual) *:-<)
