Correct me if I'm wrong John... But, wouldn't the sheer glut of phony
asylum claims clog the system & slow down the process for all people
-- phony & legitimate? Also, just by virtue of fraud being rampant,
doesn't it make the process more difficult and time-consuming as the
authorities try to sort out who has a legitimate claim & who is bogus?
In other words, those who TRULY need asylum are forced to suffer more
and longer due to the the lying, cheating, low-life scum who abuse and
take advantage of the system, right?

I was thinking the same thing -- there really is NO difference between
the two, no matter what the motives ... We have laws on the books to
maintain order and set a simple standard for all of us to observe --
in this case, these are simple issues of trust... and without trust,
all the other, more complex laws don't have a leg to stand upon. By
setting a standard, we have boundaries that should guide us in ALL of
our decisions, big & small -- when that trust is breached, we need to
right the wrong before it gives way to anarchy... I know that is a
stretch to go from fornication & lying or illegal entry & lying --
but once we start letting things slide, lowering the bar, and so on
... we will start tolerating more & more and care less & less ...
So... We MUST care about these issues and deal with them now!

Exactly... And we must hold our ground on these issues -- none of
these situations should be "relative" and have exceptions or any
extenuating circumstances...
