Hello Tom.

02 Sep 03 09:48, you wrote to me:

That is exactly why I am not interested in them. Same with laptops. At
best all you will get out of one charge is measured in single digit hours.
Lately I've noticed brand spanking new laptops where minutes is the norm
for measuring uptime. I know with the gel battery and a minimalized unit I
can easily beat this by a factor measured in hundreds, or at least that is
what I am shooting for. I managed to get a half-sized CPU board, 233MHz,
with 64M of RAM, and a PC/104 DC input power supply, running just as well
off DC as AC. Absolutely no spinney thingies other then the CPU fan. I
freely admit that I never bothered letting it go the distance and find out
exactly what the distance is, but I have a better plan in the works so that
aspect can wait a spell. I have confirmed to myself that the idea is
attainable. First I want to rid myself of unneeded cables as much as
humanly possible. This is extremely doable and I want to do it. :-)

Do you wish to place a wager?

The particular batteries I have are the size and weight of a typical car
battery but approximately four times the price and I would guesstimate at
least four times better. I figure two is all I need for this idea.
