WP has traditionally been generous in allowing relicensing of old
copies of old versions when transferred with disks and manuals,
particularly to schools, and perhaps to other nonprofits, even
while the original licensee was using a newer version. I
don't know whether Corel is continuing the policy. Also, with
academic pricing the way it is, it is sometimes cheaper to buy
a new copy than upgrade. This is also true when buying
remaindered copies, or when a copy may have been shipped as an
OEM version, bundled with a computer.
