All of my cats with the exception of one, were obtained as adults.

We provide a home for any stray cat that we meet.

The "exception" that was mentioned was a kitten that was born
in a small room downstairs to a stray cat we had adopted. We
kept the kitten. We found homes for her siblings. We kept the runt.

All our strays turned into affectionate animals. one was adhesive... she
stuck close to me like glue.  We moved houses everywhere and she
was comfortable as long as I was near.

But all were big "softies". ;-)
