One of my 'bad' batches does execute PM software, but I've also
experienced the problem in other batches. Here's a cut 'n' paste from
a reply of mine in WIN95, that provides a few more details:

AZ> 1) Make sure the [x] Close on Exit option is checked (Program tab
AZ> of the Pif's Properties dialogue)

AZ> 2) Make sure the last line of the Batch file reads:

 AZ> Exit

I'm using both, with the problem batches, and they won't prevent the
above from happening. One, or both, may appear to, but on some (not
all) subsequent runs (especially after a few back-to-back test runs),
the above will occur. FWIW, I've also found that making almost any
change to a .BAT, while testing, will appear to prevent the above
from happening, but subsequent consecutive runs will disprove that.
This problem doesn't occur with all batches, and, as of yet, I haven't
been able to find a common denominator (it also occurs in Win98SE).
It's an intermittent quirk, that I wish I could prevent. It almost looks
like Windows thinks that COMMAND.COM has gone resident, at times (?).

BTW, I'm not loading any TSRs in the 'bad' batches, and I'm executing
the commands directly, (not through COMMAND.COM explicitly).

 CJ> kpush 3 CR 3

Well, why didn't I think of that (actually I did, but dismissed the
idea, because I didn't think a DOS key-pusher would work)!

Thanks, Charles; I'll grab the above. It would be nice if we didn't have
to resort to such tactics, though.
