TD>I'll probably end up using the PS/2 mouse port but I'd like to know
TD>why it boots up this way and a way to reserve com3 for the mouse.
I ran a mouse on com4 at one time using RODENT.SYS as my mouse driver.
Two things come to mind:
When using RODENT.SYS, both the I/O port and IRQ are specified when
loading the mouse driver.
Whatever mouse driver you select, it wants to be loaded before the
serial adapter driver you use is loaded.
If you want to install your mouse on other than com1, then the I/O
port and IRQ must somehow be specified. Otherwise, the default I/O
port and IRQ for com1 is assumed.
