I came away from CITY OF ANGELS quite disappointed. Hollywood turned a
rather great, "meaty" film (Germany's, WINGS OF DESIRE), into a
simple "boy meets girl" romance. Ugh!
It might have worked on that level - it did for my wife - but I was
looking for more and never noticed...
I'll check it out on video a year or two from now and see if I can enjoy
it without the inflated expectations.
