HIMEM was loaded OK. I could put DOS up there!

Thanks for the thoughts, but I managed to locate COMBI.SYS which is a
Ramdrive and cache combined. Did the job without a hitch.

Just goes to show that the old files are sometimes handy when one is faced
with an "old" machine :-)
