        My second SiL who programs for NASA, says that they are still on
        16 bits. Their whole PRG for the Shuttle is less than 1 gig, he
        has to stay inside of 990,000 bytes. It would cost too much and
        delay all by 3.5 years if they were to update. Mind you, he says
        that this is plenty for what is needed.

        You can not blame the Texas burnup on software, rather hardware,
        consider foam hardware.
