Fine , you need a packet driver for your ISA card if you run in DOS.
For W3.1 don't know but should be similar to W95

EV> First of all, Do I need software for the 486 (BTW w/Win3.1) to be able
EV> to talk to the Network Card after I plug it in?

EV> I still have Arachne on that 486 box, any idea of what I need to do to
EV> get Arachne to to work through the Router?

In Dos you edit file arachne.cfg so that IP info is to be found in
wattcp.cfg

EV> A long time ago I have tried Arachne out on a Dial-up Account and it
EV> worked OK, about the same as Netscape did using W3.1.

EV> The Network Card is a old 10 Mc/s card.
