True - in which case looking at the modem most definitely does become
annoying. As you noted, asking NetComm for an extra option in a future
Flash ROM oughtta do the trick.

I take it this is a GoodThing(tm)?

Identical.

Identical - except the "48" in the second line, where I have
"C8". No, I have no idea what it means.

Quite right, typo on my part - it is of course %M1.

 PE> ...the #B1 I don't understand

So try this: "AT ? #B" - the output should be:

#B B0 and B2 1200bps originate mode
       = 0*B0 = V.23, B2 = V.22
       = 1 B0 = V.22, B2 = V.23

I use B0, which can either use V.22 or V.23 in its auto connect speed
detect routines, so I've selected (via #B1) that I want V.22 instead of
V.23. In many ways its a moot choice since I don't plan any connections
that slow anytime soon - but it's there, ready, for when (if) it's needed.

Cheers..
