JC> I do not believe there will be a sysop deal for the Sonic 56k, or any
JC> 56k modem for that matter. There is no point in selling a client side
JC> modem to a sysop, who intends on using it on a server.
There's definitely a point to this if the server is a hub polling a backbone
system who's running a host that's capable of delivering a 56k connection.
I haven't heard of this happening with the Rockwell technology yet, but it's
being done with X2 already. USR I-Modems are starting to appear on backbone
systems, and they are capable of hosting X2 sessions. When the technologies
finally merge into ONE 56k protocol, it'll definitely be handy for BBS use.
A BBS isn't always a host, sometimes it's a client too.
