She's chairperson for our bird club's show this year. They expect a slew
of people to attend this year. They're having the founder of ARCAS speak
at the show, and having a HUGE Amazon species display, complete with
trees and background rainforest soundtrack. It's in August--she's ALL
fired up NOW, though. 
Don't tell Laura, but I'm finding it harder and harder to get excited
about the club shows because of the disease risks. And the Amazon thing
just scares the heck out of me. They're taking pet birds of several
species, from about 10 different homes, sticking them together in a room
full of potted trees from a nursery, and letting them interact for a
whole day. THEN the owners will just take'em home again.
