Can't speak for Bob's area, but up here we started with just 415 in the SF 
Bay Area and 707 to the north.  Then the East Bay split off with 510 a couple 
of years ago.  Now we hear that the East Bay is splitting up again in a 
couple of years, and the split will provide enough numbers for a couple of 
years, then we'll have to do it all over again, I guess.
 
Just too many computers and FAX machines and extra phones and computers and 
stuff!  No wonder Pacific Bell wants to sell all of us ISDN lines.
