MS> For example, for a DosAllocMem call with a size of 1, the following MS> occurs: MS> On OS/2 Warp Connect, the system allocates a 4096-byte block of MS> committed memory. MS> On OS/2 Warp, the system allocates a 4096-byte block of committed MS> memory plus 61440 bytes without attributes. [what about fixpaks?] I don't think the 61440 will ever be backed by physical ram. I think they are refering to _address space_, as I was (and this is still not a good thing, chewing up your 512mb address space, but it is not nearly as bad has wasting physical memroy). I wonder why they made the change? --- Maximus/2 3.00* Origin: Sol 3 * Toronto * V.32 * (905)858-8488 (1:259/414) SEEN-BY: 50/99 270/101 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 955 SEEN-BY: 712/407 515 517 628 713/888 800/1 @PATH: 259/414 400 99 250/99 3615/50 396/1 270/101 712/515 711/808 934 |
