Not necessary, as I'm plenty satisfied with Konqueror for now, and don't
really see the need for another browser. Got IE on the windoze box, and a
couple of textmode ones on the linux box besides. It was Ray's idea to
send that my way, he thought I should take a look at it, and I thought
"okay..." but what got here wouldn't unpack properly.

I'm still sorry I missed him when we were down that way.

I'll bet!

I run KDE on the K6-200 that's my primary linux box. I would've installed
all of that stuff on the secondary box (workstation), but had only put a
500M HD in there so I held back on a lot of stuff. I'm still not sure what
I'll end up mounting with NFS and what I'll load in there...

Then I finally hooked up with my brother, who'd upgraded his system. I
got his old MB, a Celeron 366. Now all I need is a 256M ram stick and an
AGP card to bring that up. And figure out what HD of what I have here is
going in there. And what monitor I'm going to use with it. And where the
heck I'm gonna *PUT* it in this mess... :-)

Once I hit that point, I'll move all my day-to-day work stuff to that
machine and use the other (primary) box as a server only.

But first I've gotta get this scanner working, which he found for me for
only $10. I'm going to use this AHA-1540 card that I found in a pizza box
and which Wayne was kind enough to find jumper settings on a
while back.

Then I gotta get mail and news working under linux, none of that software
is even installed at this point. I need to look at it all, pick stuff,
install it, configure it, and go from there.

Making my web connection through the firewall/router to be on-demand would
be nice, too. :-)

Maybe after all of that I'll find some time to continue what I'd started
with the local web pages, and perhapes eventually even come up with some
stuff for outside consumption.

Hey, I get good enough at this I might even find employment at it, you
never know...
