My Sportster to Paul's Courier ALWAYS shows an aftercall stats link rate of
28800/26400 (or it has since I began checking this about 10 days ago). 
This tells me that one of us has lines which could be improved a tad, and
given that the vast majority of my calls to other V.34 modems connect at
28800 both ways, it's not hard to guess where I'm pointing the finger.
