I see three possible causes for X's problem here; no doubt the others will
chime in with their own experience since I have zilch.
1) Nerves, etc. It does seem possible that the stress of work (riding,
driving) could cause the problem. On the other hand, you say he shows no
other signs of nervousness or resistence, so let's move on ....
2) Corn oil. Wonder if the extra 'grease' is just too much for him.
Wonder if the combination of too much corn oil and the bran could
be 'cleaning him out', if you know what I mean. Is there a reason you need
to give him corn oil? Is his diet short of other roughage?
3) Exercise. Maybe I'm wrong, but if my memory is correct, exercise
stimulates the gut and helps keep everything moving, right? So maybe there's
something amiss in the combination of feeding and exercise times. When do
you feed him and when do you work him?
Anyhow, I wonder if part of the problem might be the combination of too much
corn oil, work too close to feeding time, and the exercise all together. I
know *my* gut is unhappy when I eat too much greasy food at lunch and then
run around at my job immediately afterwords.
