JS> Question: Was the airfield taxiways rated for Boeing 707 type
JS> aircraft? I do not have a late Jeppson Chart of the Field.

The runway data for Champaign/Urban Airport looks like this in
my directory: (Multiply X 1000 for Gross Weight Capacities.)
RWY 14R-32L H8100X150 (CONC-GRVD) S-100 D-180 DT-260 HIRL
RWY 04L-22R H6500X150 (CONC-GRVD) S-100 D-180 DT-260 MIRL
RWY 18-36 H5299X150 (COCN-GRVD) S-40 D-50 DT-90 MIRL
Remarks mentions that Taxiway D is not available to aircraft
with seating capacities over 30 pax.
S = Single Wheel Landing Gear (DC-3, C-47, F-15, Etc.)
D = Dual Wheel Landing Gear (DC-6, Etc.)
DT = Dual/Tandem Landing Gear (B-707, Etc.)
For a B-707 that gives a GCW of 260000 pounds max. plus maybe a
20-50% weight margin over that which isn't supposed to be used. Taxiway
D serves Runway 22 via taxiways D3, D2, D1, and C to RWY 18 and 14R. A
Note on the FLIP diagram adds the following to the runway GWCs.:
RWYS 4L-22R, 14R-32L S-100, T-180, ST-175, TT-260
RWY 18-36, S-40, T-50, TT-190
RWYs 4R-22l and 14L-32R are reserved for University and FBO
use only.
Jane's puts the following weight limits on the C-135 family
of aircraft: Empty Weight-171000 Lbs., Max Takeoff Weight-
336000 pounds.
Which taxiway did they clip?
