Agreed.  In fact, close perusal of the last 10 days' logs have shown
aftercall connect stats of 28800/26400 on EVERY call to Paul's board.  The
first figure relates to my receive rate, BTW.  If I'm receiving data at
28800, why can't I send at the same rate (rhetorical, as I really don't
care) ?

The Courier certainly does things slightly differently WRT V.32ter (which
the Sportster doesn't support), as well as its proprietary "quick
connects".  However, Dave Drummond informs me that apart from Rod,
nobody else has had retrain problems with V.32bis connects (verified too,
as since following Rod's complaints, he activated his aftercall stats to
check retrains, and none have been issued to any of his 14400 callers).

Perhaps Paul should consider a V.34 Sportster instead ?  :)
