I've looked around, and even asked in the OS/2 echos, but nobody has been
able to point me towards even ONE miserable MIDI sequencer app, so I can't
comment on their (its?) efficiency at all.

I'm still waiting for charges to come down a bit before I sign up with any
of the current service providers.  Might be a long wait too...

Given that I subscribe to Hobbes', and there has, to date, never been a
single OS/2 MIDI sequencer app contained therein, I'm not holding my
breath.
