On (30 Oct 02) Russell Tiedt wrote to Carol Shenkenberger... Hello Russell, RT> Why I asked the question about the FAQ/How-To thingy in the first RT> place. Then when problems RT> are found with a node segment, refer the people to the document, if RT> you can get them to read it fully, you will have won half the battle. Just be sure it /IS/ readable. The problem with many documents, FAQs and other such things technical in Fidonet is that they /ARE NOT/ readable by the general masses. The FTSC documents are well written, but I don't understand them worth a hoot. When they start talking about formulas and placements in hex and such, I get lost real fast. If I'm supposed to put a comma as the first character, tell me to put a comma as the first character. Do not tell me to insert the hex 2C or decimal 44 as the first character, followed by the numeric designation for the address in the range of 00000-999999. :) IOW, make it readable by the general public, not just the programmers. Ok, that's my $.02... Change, please. :) Frank http://pages.sbcglobal.net/flv http://biseonline.com/r19 --- PPoint 3.01* Origin: One more time. Slooowwly, please.
