subject: Switching To tubulars

A long time ago I had Tubular tires on my bike. I stopped using them since It
became costly when I had lots of flats. I realize today that most of my flats
were due to underinflating the tires. I had no gauge then and I would use a
simple hand pump. For the last couple of years and while knowing the
previous, I wanted to get tubulars again. Perhaps my story of underinflating
the tires is part of my excuse to justify returning to tubular tires. I still
have the wheel set, but will have to change the axle from 135cm to 141cm
since it was a 12 speed in the past and I want to change it to 16. I will
have to get a new 8 cog freewheel and of course three tubular tires. I don't
want to get the very expensive one for obvious reasons.
Now can anyone tell me if I am crazy to want to do this since the change will
be an expensive one even though I already have the wheels. Are there other
who would like to suggest why it would be worth the change. Anyone out there
who just loves tubular tires? I'm sure there are other who just don't know
what I am talking about. I want to here from those people too.
