SD> I've noticed here that there's more "my music's better than yours"
SD> attitude that actual discussion of the music itself...
A curious, and relatively recent phenomenon, that.
I happened across a web site the other day that had links to /dozens/ of
'anti-band' pages, sites dedicated to slamming specific bands. (I don't
remember the URL, but a search on "anti-band" would probably turn it up).
I can understand someone not liking a given band's music. Certainly there
are bands and artists that I don't much care for. But I'm mildly amazed
that so many folks would invest the time and energy required to put up a
web page about music that they /don't/ like!
It seems to me that the trend began in the late seventies, with the anti-
Disco movement. Organized Disco-record burnings, and what not. Before that,
I can't recall "negative fame" being an issue. Unless you count the "Rock-
N-Roll Is Satan's Music" dogma of the fifties, and that wasn't quite the
same thing...
SD> Anyone out there do any home recording?
I'm afraid the extent of my home recording experience is setting up my
camcorder in front of my son's band, and telling them to hit it. ;-)
