Well, it is my opinion that, again, you must make an excuse for why someone
is
homeless... it must be that they are a drunken drug addict and they are there
for you to feel sorry for them.
If you refuse to give someone money because you think they'll spend it on a
beer, and that makes you feel good somehow, because you have some willy-nilly
justification for it, whatever. The basic fact of the matter is that I don't
see you taking a homeless guy to get a haircut and a job, because more than
likely, they've already done that themselves!
So you're great idea is to take them by the hand, and say, it's okay, we'll
get
you a job at McDonalds.. meanwhile, the guy is like, um, where's my beer?
Its interesting that you do admit that being of the lower class is akin to
slavery. Now, let's start talking about how to solve that problem, since we
both agree on the severity of it. Is it try to get the homeless people a
crappy
job that they can't live on the wages anyway? Or is it to eliminate the
conditions that will always create an underclass, and a lower class? You'll
be
buying haircuts until the day you die, and homelessness will only continue to
increase in this country. Let's stop talking about feel-good anecdotes and
let's start talking solution.
