Bobbi, It has taken me a long time to realize what is happening. Each
day I repeat the same phrase over and over to Meggie and so far she has
not repeated one of them I have tried to teach her. Now keep in mind she
says the following: "hello Robert, Whatcha Doin?, Come're, Wanna go
upstair, Want some, Wanna come out, Wanna go bye bye, S.it, Diane,
good girl, right now and hello. Quite a vocabulary for a 15 month old I
would say. Now none of these words have I ever tried to teach her or
repeat over and over. They just seem to come out of her mouth when she
wanted to say them. Now for the big light bulb going on in my head. Why
in the world would an intelligent creature like Meggie want to ever say
anything that this DUMB human sits and repeats over and over like an
idiot with no meaning. She isn't dumb it's the human that is. I now let
her say what she wants when she wants. She happens to be smarter then
me.
