I really miss the R71A.  But, now I'm wondeing if an antenna tuner will work 
with the Sangean 818CS.  I fearpossible damage to the radio like what 
happened before.  Luckily for me, Bob Crane sent me a brand new Sangean as a 
replacement.  The SONY AN-1 works just fine on it now.  I may have to get an 
antenna splitter for the AN-1 and the Grove "sky wire", depending on what 
kind of results I'm looking for.  Yes, I've heard from others that the 
sky-wire or long-wire is a lot better for RTTY and FAX signals.  By the way, 
the Sangean DOES work well with FAX/CW/RTTY modes.  However, the BFO is real 
touchy and has to be adjusted just right for such signals to come in with 
considerable quality.  Happy Monitoring...Brian.
