 Hey a 12 Pound Rainbow is Nice !....I had a Real nice Rainbow last year 
about a week after i caught the 19 pounder and i would say it was almost as 
big as the lake trout...but it faut 3 times as hard.....the lake has giant 
rainbows..they call them Jerads...as the grow to 20-30lbs....and are 
basically like a steel head ( sea running Rainbow Trout)

 I like to take my Propane Heater and Small Propane Barbecue when i go ice 
fishing that way i stay warm and cook Pizza,Burgers,Lazanaa(Frozen 2 Lb Type)
and hot coffee or Tea(with a small shot of Rum) and vola...i'm one content 
fisherman....ice fishing tent helps to....keeps the -20c + Temps to about 
+10c Inside.....
If you do go ice fishing for trout ....try a small Yellow Ice Fishing Jig 
with about a 6 or 4 Size Hook...and use Jumbo Meal Worms...Trout 
lovem...better then Maggots....and give it continuos action....alot of 
fisherman just drop a worm on the hook and let it sit there with a bobber on 
their line....I find they seldom catch anything...Trout Love action....looks 
to them like its a real bug...Hummm ...something tasty....
Well caught another 2 1/2 Lb Trout and a few about 1 1/2 lbs last 
saturday...at a local Resivoir(Dam) just 10 miles from home....but the Air 
temp has been way to warm this winter....and the ice is now melting....about 
6 inches of good ice....but its turning white....i don't trust it....so i 
guess i will have to move to higher mountain lakes....
