BD>A Note from Bob Davidson to All!
BD> I am laying out a game plan to convert my Win95 FAT16
BD>system to FAT32. Before I
BD> do, I need to get a few things straight in my mind.
BD> 1: Partition Magic can reformat FAT16 to FAT32 without losing the data
BD> drive?
Right.
BD> 2: WIN95b needs to be installed on a formatted drive that
BD>has NO other operating
BD> system on it?
Not true... you can install it over an existing Win 3.x or Win95
installation IF you boot to DOS, and rename all copies of WIN.COM to
something else. As a result, you can install over your existing
installation and keep your current setup and installed programs.
BD> 3: Is it possible to restore ANY of the WIN95a from tape
BD>backup over top of the
BD> new WIN95b installation?
Don't try it-- the possibility of Registry problems is too large. Instead,
see the answer to #2 above.
