JP>-> Seems to me I got a letter, out of the blue, from the NRA containing
JP>-> yet *another* thing to vote on. Only this time it was a bunch of
JP>-> peoples names who I knew absolutely nothing about, had never heard
JP>-> of, and didn't know what they would be doing.
JP>->
JP>-> In that light, 5.9% seems about 5.9% too high. I don't vote for or
JP>-> against people that I don't even know. Just like I don't blindly
JP>-> sign petitions.
JP>Well, I agree, Nolan. I'm sure Ernie is open to suggestions on ways to
JP>improve upon this.  Any ideas?
JP>Regards

        Anyone on the ballot has either gathered enough signatures on a
        petition, or is known personally by the Nominating Committee.
        That helps ensure a "vetting process" is working. As to whether
        the low voting percentages indicate the system is broken, or
        working just fine, is open to interpretation. Suggestions?
        Ernie P.
