While I, as an NEA member, disagree strongly with many of the social
gameplaying positions you're hinting at, there's still a lot of good that the
NEA is doing. Despite some of its ludicrous social positions, the NEA
advances education as a whole.
But you should remember that advancing education is only a minor (IMHO a
very minor) part of the NEA's job. The NEA is a labor union. Advancing its
members interests should be its #1 priority.
