Okay, there were never any criminal charges filed, and an internal inquiry
turned up nothing. But the civil suit resulted in $2 million in damages.
In the other case, the officers used hog-tying, which had been banned by the
department. Again, no charges, nothing internally, but huge awards in the
civil
case.
The defense attornys made the claim that the civil case proved guilt, but the
city had no comment.
