Public-school teachers have a lot more autonomy on the job than UAW
members do. There's no comparison between the UAW and the NEA for this
reason.
UAW members in a Chevy plant are micromanaged down to exactly how they
lift a transmission onto an assembly line. They don't have the freedom in
doing their jobs that NEA members planning lessons do...Chevy management does
all the planning for them.
